How ScanPrint works

Print from your phone at a shop near you, in a few taps.

  1. Step 1

    Find a shop

Tap Shops (or Find a shop near you on the website) to see print shops on a map, sorted by distance, with directions and whether they're open now.

  2. Step 2

Scan the QR code at the counter

Tap Scan and point your camera at the ScanPrint sticker. The shop's page opens. The app only opens real ScanPrint shop codes, so a fake sticker can't send your file elsewhere.

  3. Step 3

    Choose your files and send

Pick your files and set colour, copies, sides and pages, then send. If the shop lists its prices, you see what your files should cost first. Note your queue number and show it at the counter.

  4. Step 4

Need a PDF first? Convert it

In Convert: turn photos of pages into a PDF, Word, PowerPoint or Excel into a PDF, join PDFs, or turn a PDF into pictures. Then send the result to the shop.

  5. Step 5

    Track it in History

History shows each file as Waiting for the shop, Printing or Ready to collect. Tap “Notify me on this phone” after sending to get a message when it's ready.

Good to know

  • Your file stays private. The shop opens it only in the ScanPrint app, where screenshots are blocked, and it can't save a copy without your permission.

  • If the shop asks to download your file. It usually wants to fix something, perhaps as a Word file. Tap Allow (it lasts one hour) or Don't allow. Either way the shop can still print it.

  • Deleted automatically. Your file is deleted once the job expires, usually after 24 hours. You can also delete it yourself from the shop's page at any time, even after the shop has accepted it: it leaves the shop's queue straight away.

  • Camera won't open?. The Scan screen shows the steps for your phone to turn it back on, then tap Try again. Or use "Use a photo of the code" instead. The camera only reads the QR code, on your phone; nothing is recorded or sent.
